Chip Taylor - Same Ol´ Story b/w John Tucker´s On The Wagon Again (1975) - single

Chip Taylor (born James Wesley Voight; March 21, 1940) is an American songwriter, noted for writing "Angel of the Morning" and "Wild Thing."
He is the brother of actor Jon Voight and geologist Barry Voight and the uncle of actress Angelina Jolie and actor James Haven. Taylor attended Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, New York. In 1961, Taylor attended the University of Hartford in Hartford, Connecticut for one year.[citation needed]
After an unsuccessful attempt to become a professional golfer, Taylor entered the music business, writing pop and rock songs, both alone and with other songwriters, including Al Gorgoni (as the duo Just Us), Billy Vera, Ted Daryll and Jerry Ragovoy.

After writing three standards of the '60s -- the garage rock classic "Wild Thing," made famous by the Troggs; the soft pop ballad "Angel of the Morning," originally cut by Merrilee Rush; and "Try (Just a Little Bit Harder)," made famous by Big Brother & the Holding Company -- Chip Taylor began a solo recording career in the '70s, signing to Warner Bros. after releasing one rock-oriented album, Gasoline, on Buddah in 1971. His first album, rather ironically (and quite funnily) named Chip Taylor's Last Chance, appeared in 1973 but it wasn't a rock or a pop album: it was a country album, which signaled a return to his roots in a way, since he sang country music at the beginning of his career. Neither Last Chance nor the following year's Some of Us were hits, but the label stuck with him through one more record, 1975's This Side of the Big River. This is also a country album -- indeed, it was the only one of his records to sell well enough to appear on the country charts -- but it's not a conventional country record by any means.
The track "Same Ol´ Story" were released as a single and reached in 1975 No.4 in the dutch Top-40 and stay there for 7 weeks.

Loverde & Patrick Cowley - Die Hard Lover b/w My World Is Empty Without You (1982) - single

Frank Loverde (or simply Loverde) (1947–1990) was an American disco singer and musician active during the 1980s. Based in San Francisco,
Loverde worked with record producer Patrick Cowley on his greatest success; Die Hard Lover, released in 1982.

Patrick Joseph Cowley (October 19, 1950 - November 12, 1982) was an American disco and Hi-NRG dance music composer and recording artist. Besides Giorgio Moroder, he is often credited as a pioneer of electronic dance music

Working with Linda Imperial and her sister, Loverde made a name for himself on the San Francisco club scene as both a DJ and performer. During this time, the trio gained a record deal with Prism Records and released Iko-Iko, a record produced by Patrick Cowley and Michael Finden, in 1980. Loverde continued on the club circuit, occasionally working on studio projects, until 1982 when he was given an instrumental track by Patrick Cowley and asked to write lyrics for it. This track became "Die Hard Lover", which was recorded along with Linda Imperial and Peggy Gibbons.
The trio, now calling themselves Loverde, had huge success with the single in 1982 and became celebrities in the Hi-NRG music community.

Children Of The World feat. Ellen Foley and Jimmy Hall - The Time Is Now b/w American Medley (1980) - single

Steve Popovich and legendary Nashville producer/arranger Bill Justis have created a labor of love for our perpetual enjoyment and inspiration.
The voices of children never fail to create goose-bumps — and these Children of the World will thrill your heart. They sing with a long list of adult superstars and the selection of songs is brilliant, from "If We Only Had The Time" (what a philosophy to come from out-of-the-mouths-of-babes) and "Kids Are People, Too," to "Grandfather Song" (perfect!), to a stirring, scalp-tingling "American Medley" with Charlie Daniels.
The soul is inspired. The eyes mist over … It is time that the music of our children be heard outside of school auditoriums and classrooms. It is time for these voices to ride the media and caress the airwaves. For these are the voices of rock and flame. These are indeed the voices of our children … Children of the World.

Ellen’s duet with Jimmy Hall "The Time is Now" is, unsurprisingly, a sticky sweet ballad.
The album also contains an instrumental introduction written by Ian Hunter, a song by Abba’s Björn and Benny [Disclaimer: I fucking hate Abba], an appearance by Slovakian polka king Frank Yankovich (not related to ‘Weird’ Al) and a Father Abraham and the Smurfs song performed by Hervé Villechaize.
